Paul’s interest in radios grew out of his father’s electronic business that started in the late 1940s. His father served in the Navy during WWII as a radio technician and subsequently after the war  served  for a short time as an electronics instructor for the military.  Growing up in the family business with his brothers, Paul learned about radio repair guided by the vast knowledge that his father held in the  field of radio and television circuitry. It should be no surprise that Paul and his brothers, along with his nephews worked or  continue to work  in various technology fields.

As a young teenager, Paul won the North Jersey Student Craftsman Fair by building a Three-Band Radio Transceiver taken from a schematic in the 1963 ARRL Handbook. The transceiver was built from parts he found at his father’s business or purchased from electronic parts stores.  He acquired his first Amateur Radio License as a teen and currently  holds a General Class license with an active membership in the American Radio Relay League (ARRL).

Paul pursues his interest in vintage radio restoration and maintains memberships with:

the Radio Museum (https://www.radiomuseum.org) and

the New Jersey Antique Radio Club -NJARC (https://www.njarc.org)
